What do you like about being in the wedding industry?
It is wonderful to give couples a place that is special and that they’ll always remember. As the Corporate Wedding Manager for Heritage Hotels & Resorts, I love getting to know all of our couples and learning about their unique stories.
How does creativity shine through each hotel?
We are so lucky to have such a diverse collection of hotels with truly unique style and design. From Casa Espana at the Eldorado Hotel & Spa and Casa Esencia at Hotel Albuquerque at Old Town, both allow guests to find their own little niche to spend the evening. El Monte Sagrado provides the perfect location for a rustic outdoor wedding or guests can retreat into the luxurious ballroom. Hotel Albuquerque at Old Town and the Inn and Spa at Loretto boast traditional New Mexican style around every corner plus stunning outdoor venues. Hotel Albuquerque at Old Town, Eldorado Hotel & Spa and The Clyde Hotel all have a wedding chapel onsite for a complete wedding package.
How do your company and hotels keep up with the industry?
Our Banquet and Culinary teams follow industry trends and make adjustments accordingly. Our team prioritizes top-level service and menu selections to our clients.
What are the elements of a successful wedding?
Attention to detail is the most important element. After that, I always encourage couples to be in the moment. Excellent food is necessary and exquisite service is key.
What makes your hotels different from others?
Our collection of culturally distinct hotels and resorts draws from a blend of the Southwest’s Native American, Mexican, Spanish, and American Western culture and historical influences. To enter any of our properties is to enter a world of timeless design, innovative craftsmanship, and world-class accommodations.
What’s your favorite part of a wedding?
My favorite part of a wedding is seeing the couples just following their ceremony and how they interact with each other and their wedding party when they’ve just been married. The joy on their faces is a beautiful thing!
What changes do you anticipate in the future within the industry?
I expect couples to start having smaller, more intimate weddings so that they can focus on all of the details.
What wedding trend would you like to see come back?
I welcome new ideas and trends at our properties and hope to see continued creativity with our couples.
What was the biggest challenge while growing Heritage Hotels & Resorts?
The biggest challenge for our hotels is not to forget the reason why couples are selecting our hotels. They are coming to a Heritage property to experience excellent service and food quality. We want to stay the best for all of our couples.
Is there anything you would like people to know about Heritage Hotels & Resorts?
Our mission is to tell the story of New Mexico to our guests. We are a New Mexico-based, minority-owned company offering a collection of award-winning accommodations that have come to embody the culture, spirit, and tradition of New Mexico.
